I won a HG and QT aqua Cohansey jar at an auction. The QT is minus the complete closure but the HG has one. The glass lid seems to have a slight variation from the ones listed in RB 11. The jar is # 628. The lid is shown between lines 626-4 and 627. My lid has the same letters , embossing and periods on the outer rim ( COHANSEY. GLASS. MANUF. CO. PHILADA.PA. PAT.JULY.16.1872 ) plus the center Y as the book listing, but the inner letters has 3 added periods and a raised T in the word PATENT. PATENT . JANUARY. 18.1876This probably don't mean a row of beans because there are probably many more the same out there if others looked good and hard at theirs.If anyone has an extra lid for a quart I'd be interested.
