Can anybody help identifying this bottle. It is 21cm high, bottom diameter is 6.5cm and at the top the diameter is 5cm. The colour is nearly black, but purple when you shine a light on to it. It has no marks or name on it and its surface is shin[attachment=P1138735.jpg] [attachment=P1138733.jpg] [attachment=P1138734.jpg] y.

Hey unique and welcome to the site. I remember seeing a post on here about salesmen from glass houses having sample bottle necks and tops to display for customers. Just hought I'd throw that out ther in case somebody else remembers. Happy Digs, DD

Hi Guys,Thank you for your help, I am not quite sure if you are right, this bottle seems to be very old and you can't see through the glass.

Truffle bottle for sure. I've seen these as old as 1800 and as new as 1910. Judging from your pontil pic, I would estimate the date to be 1870 / 1880.
