A friend of mine texted me pictures of this bottle. It's not his, but the owner wanted to know about it and I told him what I knew, but didn't know what to tell him concerning value except that normally, they aren't high-dollar bottles. He also asked how to clean it and I told him it's about as clean as you can get it, short of tumbling which starts around 25 bucks, so I advised him to sit tight until I could find out what it's worth. On one side is a large star with "No. 52" inside. On the other it reads, "CODD'S PATENT / RE-ISS. AUG 13TH 1878 / H. CODD & CO. / 23 PARK ROW / NEW YORK" [attachment=codd1.jpeg] [attachment=codd.jpeg]

Well I have three of them. There is some neat information linkw agout these bottles and they were made in several places around the world. It has been a good study for me, and oI( guess three is enough to keep me happy. One of mine is cobalt glass, one clear glass and I think the other one must be in a box somewhere. Their values varry and a loot of them were made.RED Matthews

Value wise, I see them from 40 to 200 bucks. The ones I hcve were in the 30 - 50 range. I have a limited amount of funds for expensive glass. Just part of my farm boy - up bringing. RED M.

I see the European foreign Codds much more then any American Codd. If that's a New York Codd should be worth more then any Foreign one. I'd be Interested in it if available. LEON.

It's still an English made bottle and probably contents, the address was his import company here. He didn't do well.Without a US city, state and bottler name they're pretty common aren't worth very much.

If this bottle does not have any chips or cracks would think around $150 as American Codd bottles are quite rare.

I was speaking comparatively. The same patent info/address are seen embossed with a bottlers names and states from Rhode Island to California, quite a few from Texas oddly (to me anyway). Those can go into the $thousands$, especially the Hamilton types even if they weren't Codd.
