Went to a Beer can show Yesterday & on my way back drove threw some old neighborhoods. Seen a burned down run down dump of a house I'm familar with so stop to poke around. With all the foliage it's a jungle now. LEON.

Only 2 feet down when I started hitting a bunch of glass. just one thin layer & only got 1 whole bottle which was a Milk. Many broken & common West Side Brewery pre pro crowntop bottles, probably dating it to around 1910. LEON.

Not really a good hole, but I always say as long as I get one good whole bottle I'll be happy. I did get one whole Milk so I'm happy. I like the Milks with the Address's on them. Wonder if a Farm house still there? LEON.

Leon, I'm somewhat familiar with Detroit, since my hometown is Sarnia, Ontario (across from Port Huron) and thus made many visits to the Motor City over the years for concerts, hockey games, hockey tournaments, and, yes, bottle shows. The urban devastation is a tragedy of the highest order and it pains me to see it. Still, as you know and share, there are some interesting bottle opportunities presented. On that account, I have a question for you: Are you able to tap into really early sites in Detroit's original site, or is that part of the city unaccessible for whatever reasons?

CorkTown probably the oldest area but all those houses nicely kept up & would need Permission. Heres a pic of 2 1850's house's but it has been well dug from Wayne State University Students ect. The desolate isolated burned down houses & abandoned empty lots, blocks & blocks worth are more out of downtown area. LEON.

I've always liked bottles with addresses on them too. Looking at Google Maps I'd say that no, there's no farmhouse there and there probably never was. The address doesn't exist anymore (I'm guessing they renumbered the street) but usually dairy addresses were for the processing plant, not the farm itself. That area looks way too urban for a farm as well.

Yeah but you gotta picture the area over 100 years ago. Bantam in Rusty Bunch said the address is now under expressway I-96. I may have to go take a look. LEON.

No I did, the area looks like it was built around that time and Magnolia Street is too short to have been a road prior to the grid being built. It's not actually under I-96, that's just where Google drops you because the address doesn't exist (the lowest they go is the 1000's).
