Hi all, I found a bottle at a store today that looked to good to be true. I wanted to get your all's opinion on it. It is a blown bottle, with the mold line disappearing before the lip of the bottle and what appears to be a pontil scar on the bottom. The bottle has some whittle marks and glass imperfections on the surface, but it only has one small bubble in the glass over the entire bottle. The lip of the bottle is slightly imperfect with one side sagging a little more than the other. The strange thing about the bottle is it is in such nice shape. There is no ware what so ever, not even ware on the base from it sitting on a shelf. If it is a repo it was done very nicely. Not a cheep imitation by any means. SO... what do you all think? Thanks.

I am by no means an expert, but it appears to be a Clevenger Reproduction, or maybe some sort of newer one. No base wear always draws a red flag. Just curious, what was the asking price?

The seller was asking 25 for it. It was in a booth at an antique store so I was not able to talk to the seller about it. I figured the seller either didn't have a clue to what they had (and I found a heck of a steal) or they knew and didn't want to point out it was a repo.

If it's real, then someone tumbled it to a point where no words can describe the horror. I'm hoping the condition is due to the fact that it's an early reproduction, and hopefully one worth more than $25?

I agree with RIBottleguy, its either a repro (early) or has been tumbled to death, but I would say that $25.00 is a fair price for it in either case. ....Andy

I don't have one doubt that it's a reproduction.
