The one next to the broken ink,2nd pic up from here, is a shoe black. It had a daubber with a wood lid, and usually had a paper label. I actually seen one at the antique mall in Logan the other day with paper label and all.[

thanks mike went out yesterday to dig alittle more came across somemilk class bottles but hope to find more when i go deeper got a few places to try and find more will see whats there

I think abandoned canals have lots of potential as most of them went out of date early enough. Besides bottles being pitched overboard, after they were abandoned the canal beds would have made great dumps, if you can only figure out where. Also there had to be a lock house dump/privy every so often.
