Both pretty common but still nice pieces. The BROOKFIELD ground stained B-HIVE is called a CREB for CRown Embossed Brookfield and Lee Brewer has recently finished a complete book on the extensive study of them. The other is a Dead End Spool. Some are embossed, some not. I like them either way. Jim

botlguy, the big Brookfield has eluded me for years, I have dozens of Brookfield from the area, all a generation later. Every dead end spool , I've dug or found on the surface was broken. This was a privy dug example, and both were less than a cheeseburger and a order of fries! Thanks for the info!
