I'm just wondering why I occasionally see numbers atop Hemingray insulators. I usually see that on Brookfield for their shop numbers.

Did Hemingray also work in shops, and mark them accordingly? Was it only on certain insulators, like this No. 16?

As a note of interest, they have the words noticeably too far to our left on this one, in position to the seam.

Bear I am by no means an expert, especially on HEMINGRAY made insulators but Shop Numbers are less common on them vs. other manufacturers but they do show up on other styles. It seems to be inconsistent, there are other HEMI CD 121s that do not have the numbers. I do like their oversized numbers, also found on SOME CD 162 & 152s.

This would be a good question for a HEMI specialist.
