Finally figured out how to get back on my old account! I dug this one years ago but it's still by far the best umbrella ink I've ever pulled!!
That's a beauty!

Ole man what a find !

There is just something about that cobalt blue, eh? That is truly a beauty. Did you dig that one up? and does it have a pontil mark?
Duh, just read your post again, sorry. Was this found near where you live? Did it come out of an old dump where most everything was hand made, or did you find it along with some newer ABM items?
Nice. That's an amazing looking umbrella ink.
Everyone has their thing. For me it's a safety issue having sharp broken glass items around the house. The one glass fragment I ever kept was this one from an Overholt pint flask. Because I found it...
Thank you. Haven't found it yet, will keep looking.
Not sure what the problem is with the pics. They seem fine to me.
I'll insert the images again in this message.
Oh, I thought you were joking about the shells, because I was finding a lot of actual seashells. I will have to look more closely since I'm not sure which bottle you are referring to.
I don't think there are any BC bottle books for that era. I can only think of three and all focus on pre-1930 bottles. I've been trying to save pictures of every later BC soda bottle I come across...
I will have to find some BC bottle books. I could only find one picture of this bottle online, but no other information.
Yeah, seems he was right about finding more "out of area" soda bottles...
Nice demijohn, but definitely from the 1800s. They weren't making bottles that big until maybe the 1830s, definitely by the 1840s.
