old paper label Cod Liver oil bottle Northern Ontario
saw this bottle when flipping thru ebay and though it was interesting , don't know if I'd have enough interest to place a bid , but it is a curious item . appears to be fairly old and has a faded paper label from a small town of Massey / Algoma which is in northern Ontario , appears to has a druggist name on it although I can't read it
the same seller also has some other medical related bottles from Canada - a Winnipeg druggist , Ottawa druggist , Collingwood druggist , Peterboro kidney bottle and a Northrop lyman bottle that says CW or Canada west on it .
That's a nice one! You don't often see labeled bottles of that age from towns that small. The Ottawa bottle I believe is fairly easy to find, as I have one and know of three more, including one owned by the store currently located at 71 Sparks Street.
I kind of though the Ottawa one might be common , haven't really seen any bottles from Massey before , I don't think it would of been that big back then , maybe a railway stop ? or mill town maybe or was a mine there ?
actually haven't been there before so not really sure what is there but it doesn't look that big from the map
I've been digging mineral specimens across the U.S. for the last 20 years or so, and I've been underground a lot, but the pontil from today's find somehow makes me think about strange voids I've yet...
I wanted a Battle Creek Sanitarium bottle to go along with my plate and postcard from them. With it also came the labeled Battle Creek druggist bottle. I think I dated the labeled one to late 1910s. ...
