All I can tell you is that it is a USA liquor bottle from between the end of prohibition (1930s) to 1964. It has limited collectability in my opinion.
Yea, some sort of mid-century marketing gimmick. Very possibly European.
a lot of the older coke bottles there seem to be broken , have found some others over the years

Has the look and color of a "ball Mason" 1900 -1910 area and I think you are correct its a packer jar. The c on the base is probably a mold mark.
I pretty much scuba here in New England and I could probably build a house with all the brick I find and leave under water.
So I imagine for whatever reason so much was thrown in water...
It looks fairly modern to me unfortunately. I'm thinking 1970's or so. I could be wrong, but you don't often see old bottles with that shape and the design of the leather also has a real 70's feel.
