I have a blue mason jar with air bubbles and the number 13 on the bottom but there is no logo on the jar itself. This is not a case of it being worn off, it apparently looks like it was never embossed. It is not perfectly round, you can see some warping on the side (pics 4& 5) and the seams on the sides go all the way up the neck. Lastly, it does not have a normal lip, it is more of a "neckless" jar. Is there a way to confirm if this in fact is a Ball mason jar and the approximate age and if so how common are these? Thanks in advance!

It certainly looks like a Ball product (just like the Ball/Mason jars) but I don't know that you'll ever know for sure. I've been told that these logoless jars were generally sold to food companies to put their products into; this way they didn't have to worry about the alignment of the jar when they put the label on. Value is probably minimal...maybe $3-5. A good jar to use in the pantry (that is what I do) or put marbles in. Is the cover marked? Cover could be worth more than the jar if it is an unusual one.

nhpharm is right on the money except you might have a difficult time getting that much from a collector. It's more of a nostalgic decorator item at this point of time.

I'm definitely not interested in trying to sell it as I love all different kinds of Ball mason jars. I am just trying to find out if there is a way to confirm it is actually a Ball jar and approximate age. Since it is one I had never seen before I wanted it to add to my collection, not to sell it.

I'm glad you are more interested in finding out particulars about the jar but knowing the general value is important also. I have forgotten many particular issues but I believe the age is from the 1920 -1930 era. As stated above, it will take a BALL jar specialist to confirm, if possible, that it is Ball made but I suspect it is.
Thanks for being persistent. We need that.
