I have owned several marble bottles in the past but just recently came across this one. I have owned several old Codd bottles but have only heard of one other bottle like this. Any news on history would be great. The bottle has just been rinsed off. Better photos can be taken after a thorough cleaning.

Oh wow, I didn't know anything like that existed! Does it have the inner ridges that hold the marble in place like a real Codd bottle, or does it just roll around in there? Any idea why they did it? I can't think of any practical reason for putting a marble in a crown top other than for nostalgia purposes. It doesn't have that ring in the lip that Codd bottles do, does it?
I'd definitely like to see better photos after cleaning!
