Great American Remedy, for Coughs, Colds, & Asthma. Earliest reference I've found for that description in original documents is 1845, in which we also find it's a play-off of a British med of the same name (minus 'American', of course.)

The label is partially missing, partially repaired, and someone coated it in something to preserve it (hopefully it's acid-free), so we'll see what time does, but it's something other than your typical pontiled Castor Oil (photographed alongside on left).

Typical 1840s pontiled med.

Applied top.

It holds up under a loupe and in research, so I declare it authentic.
