Any idea what this is? I'm thinking some sort of insulator sort of thing. Found at a construction site that's got a lot of TOC shards. It's solid glass, maybe 2" high.

First image is of the top, then the body (bisected by a hole), then the base with a sort of kick-up.

Lightning rod insulator (for the cable coming down the side of the house). Nice find-these are pretty early.

Thanks for the info - I really appreciate it. Glad to hear about the age. As I said, lots of TOC stuff from what was obviously a dump, but maybe this came from the remodeling or destruction of an older home at or near the TOC, which is how it made its way there. Regardless, it's cool, and I like it.

Great info as well, Jim - thanks. Looked at some sites online as you suggested and saw some real beautiful variants. Now I know something which just yesterday I knew nothing about.
