    "BROOKFIFED" Error Insulator

The insulator was rather unassuming, so I assume that the collector who had it for sale didn't give it much of a glance, as he totally missed that it says "FED", not "ELD," at the end of Brookfield.

By the time the mould engraver got to the "E", he realised his mistake, as he never finished the top bar in it; but, of course, the damage was done and he didn't care to peen it out.

While most collectors seem to have little interest in Brookfield, I'd say this one is of some interest just for the shade of green and the error.

My dog was most excited when I told him.

Nice find! Embossing errors are always interesting, and they give us all a reason to dig through what looks like a bunch of common insulators at first glance... you never know!

Bill, is this one listed in "The Book"? A known error?

Yes - it's listed both with and without a dome top shop number, 15-20.

That's called a "Shop Number" to identify which group of workers were responsible for making it. Not of value to most collectors other than it's there.

Thanks, Jim. I'm just trying to figure out if it's a 10 or LG or what. LOL.
