Definitely beer, bottom numbers seem to indicate 1942 but I'm pretty sure it's later than that by 20 years or so.

Thank you. I originally thought the R was a recycle symbol but it may actually sign for "reed company"

That bottle is definitely 1942 vintage. I have many 1940's beer bottles with original labels on same style bottle. LEON.
