Got out last weekend to dig. Looks like we were digging shallow Trash pits but then one of the diggers kept digging down in one corner & after about 5-6 feet started finding some good stuff. LEON.

Found a few Detroit Blobs & Hutches. But then found one of our favorite most wanted bottles. The elusive Schmitts Quart. Only like 2-3 known but those are only known as blobs I think. This may be only one known to exist as a blown tooled crown top. Pic of Rich headfirst into hole to retrieve it. LEON.

We all agreed to let Rich have it, the guy that dug it & who's persistence led him to it. Plus he's dug in this part of Detroit his whole life since the late 1960's & has every Detroit bottle made (some by the case) except this one. This one has eluded him for 40+ years. We figured he deserved it most. LEON.

Good diggings! Some good finds there too. I haven't been digging for years now. Too much work and young family at home. I miss it.

That again is a terrific story. Looks very dangerous but I suppose I would have done the same. Great show of integrity giving the other guy what he wants bad.
