These large amber bottles were used for chemicals usually. If it was Clorox it would say it but it could have been another company similar to Clorox. The pic of the base is really blurry but I would date it to the 1920's. If it had a larger mouth I would possibly a food bottle of some type, but not this one.

Your question was pretty broad, so I'm assuming you are interested in our thoughts on value as well. It would have pretty much no collector value, being a late and unmarked bottle. It might have some minimal value to someone doing art projects etc, who would use the bottle from some purpose. I've been surprised at the "art value" of some bottles, having sold a ton of common canning jars at a barn sale two years ago to someone who had a project in mind for them. Didn't get rich off them but did sell them, which was surprising enough to me.
