Anyone know about how old this bottle is or the value? It reads Tuttle & Wells Pharmacists Fair Haven, Conn. It has the original contents and label. The label has pen or pencil marks but the marks are faint. I think the date on the label says 3-10-78 but I am not sure. I bought it for $5.00 at an antiques store.

Thanks

1878 seems like it might be a bit early for that bottle, but that could be in the early time frame that those bottles were used in. I was thinking 1880-1900 as a date range. Hard to say what the value is, really it depends on how many collectors live in the Fair Haven area. I'd guess $10-20, but it could be more if there's demand. It's definitely a good find for five bucks!

Great pharmacy bottle! I'd say worth at least $10 with no label, probably around $20 with. Could be a scarce one too.

No there's definitely no book unfortunately, there are simply too many of them out there to catalogue them all. You can only really know scarcity through years of experience. I collect druggists for my area and I have no idea which ones are scarce. I only know which ones aren't, because I see them showing up regularly.
