Cub Beer?

Does anyone have any info on Cub Beer? All I've found is this:

I found the bottles in the photos in the Columbia, SC area. "Columbia, SC" and "O W HARTNESS & SONS" embossed on heel and "Cub Beer" cursive embossed label with "Tax paid at rate prescribed by internal revenue law" underneath. 1933-1942 era bottle.

there was a hartness bottling company in west columbia. i wonder if there is any connection. i have a toms soda from them. maybe this is a root beer bottle. just a guess.

Interesting about Hartness. Actually the "Tax paid at rate prescribed by internal revenue law" was a requirement for beer bottles between 1933 and 1942 per the Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) law.

The "Internal Revenue Tax Paid" Statement lasted until March 30th 1950. LEON.

thanks for the info. i had not heard that. some of the beer companies started bottling beer during prohabition and i thought this might a case of such.
