I have been a casual collector of old bottles from my home town and the surrounding area for many years. Also TRPQ (tall round pyro quart) milk bottles from Indiana and all over with interesting graphics.
I recently discovered ACL bottles. Pictured is my humongous collection. My last name is Vaughn hence the Vaughn bottle on the right. First name is Tom thus the bottle on the left. I tell the kids I'm a Big Shot so had to get the appropriate bottle. The Atlas bottle was found in the basement of a guy who had a case of them. At 50 cents each I bought several mint ones.
Since ACL bottles are not that old I have found that there is a lot of information on the internet. The Atlas (Detroit) bottles has a lot of info and pictures on the company. Same for the Big Shot (1948 New Orleans. Owens Illinois) which seems to still be in business.
