I am a diver based in scotland and i often find bottles and jars etc on shipwrecks.
I found this one today on a steamer in the clyde sunk in 1904. It looks to me like a sort of ink bottle? Just wondering if anyone else had any ideas?
Looks like a ground lip, so salt and pepper is a good guess. Another possibility is some sort of perfume. I expect it was something fancy, anyway. It's possible it's an ink but I've never seen one like it.
