    Grandfather's bottle collection

I am looking to sell my grandfather's bottle collection. He had about a 20x20 foot barn full of shelves with bottles of all kinds on them. Sorry, I don't know how to turn the pictures. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where's the best place to do that?

Better photos will help, but it looks like a mishmash of a few saleable bottles and a lot of stuff that just needs to go in recycling. Nothing of any significant value in the photos you posted...I'd swing by the local antique store and see if there is a dealer there that might pick out what is saleable and give you something for those before you heave out the rest of it...

you could try having a yard sale , I don't see anything that appears to be worth much or that old .

even if you got 25 cents or 50 cents each for some of these bottles that might be better than nothing

or could you try and search thru them some more and research / identify any that might be worth more and try selling them to a flea market or antiques dealer

I have to agree, I see one that I would keep is the Mason Root beer and it's not worth much, BUT the folks at this website collect older bottles/glass, you might find a collector that collects the 60's and 70' bottles...… more photo's really would help.

If it has raised lettering on the glass (embossed), and isn't just on the shoulder (upper portion), it might be worth your while to look it up online. But it if takes a screw-top, I'm afraid that those are too modern for most people to have interest in.

This is more of a HOARD than a collection. Only a few of the bottles I see are bottles that any collector would consider "COLLECTIBLE" the rest are just bottles that should be recycled for glass or used in crafting. I'm sure your grandfather enjoyed amassing these. If I were you I would go through them and keep enough of them to remember your Grandfather, ask relatives to take what they want, then whatever is remaining put an ad on your local CRAIGSLIST and try to get rid of the remaining bottles that way.

    searching for sentimental value only

I'm not sure of the value of anything because I am only searching for milk bottles of my Great-Grandfather just to keep in the family. They say Harwood or Bennett and Harwood with embossed letters. If you have any of those in the collection please let me know and I'll buy them for sure! Best of luck.

Thank you for making comments. I apologize for not responding. I am not very tech savvy and just figured out how to get back to this thread. I know I need to take better pictures, but I do have a few that are a little better. Maybe you all could tell me if they're even worth bothering with.

ID:	183850 This is Wright's Silver Cream. Maybe none of these are worth anything. I just don't know. I appreciated the advice though!

Liz, I will look for those Harwood or Bennett and Harwood as well and let you know. At the risk of sounding ignorant, could you describe milk bottles for me? Are they clear? I think I have an idea of the general shape...
