I have not had the most exciting year scuba diving as work and life seem to have a hold on me. Why couldn't I have won mega millions?
I have found some nice shards and checked out areas I always had on my radar and found just enough to want to try them again. This past Sunday I decided to go back to one of my favorite areas for bottles/flounder/ and oysters not always in that order. No boats no fishermen trying to hook me and a light steady rain is breaking out. Viz looks great tide still coming in conditions perfect.

This area usually has tons of copper, brass, and lead weights so as I was looking I was able to find quite a bit. It never ceases to amaze me how the current can unearth just a speck of a hidden buried bottle or completely unearth and un-bury a bottle. These torpedoes I found for example were not there in February. There is a slim chance any one of these torpedoes could have been something super rare, probably better odds than winning mega millions. I also found a headless lead toy soldier, canning jars, and an almond water bottle.
I have some dives planned soon so I hope to post soon. Thanks for looking, happy hunting. Kevin

Hey Kevin,
The torpedos are kind of neat. I don't find them very often. Do the barnacles come off? I find exposed bottles with zebra mussels on them from time to time. The shells themselves pick right off but there are filaments that remain that only come off with hard scrubbing..

Not bad at all. Beats what I've found lately. What's the tooth-looking thing at left in the last picture?

Hi Bob the barnacles do come off when I soak the glass in a water/ muriatic acid mix. I usually find round bottom bottles compared to these torpedo type. very crude heavy bottles. As always I wish I could go back in time and try all these beverages of old. Sand that is a cows tooth.
