Found in a foundation anyone know isbottle maker mark ?

That's not a maker's mark, it's a mold mark and unfortunately doesn't mean anything to anyone who's still alive. I'd guess it dates to around the 1870s or 80s. The crude design is a bit odd, I wonder if it might be from outside of the States.

Thanks yeah I have seen ones like it but not this crude. Dating would make sense my house is from 1860. Appreciate the help is a great site .

I've found a few of these through the years and believe they contained shoe polish, but never saw one with the "X", which is considered a mark of the much earlier Stoddard Glass Works, but not on a bottle this relatively late (1890).

Thank you Sandchip you have a ton of knowledge figured it was Shoe polish or something along those lines very neat bottle one of the only whole ones I found behind the house not broken. The "x" I have never seen though at least you have seen it . Thank you.
