Found this small whiskey flask in a South Philly foundation dig.
[FONT=&amp]Emb[/FONT]ossed: [FONT=&amp]"James Sweeny, Wine & Spirit Mercht, Fintona."

F[/FONT]
ound mention of a James Sweeny, liquor merchant, in a Cork business directory from 1863. Fintona, however, is a tiny village in Northern Ireland and not near Cork.

Any info appreciated.[FONT=&amp]

He's listed in the 1871 Fintona directory as a spirit maker and grocer. Cool flask. Got to be a story behind how it got to Philadelphia!
