Hi team,

I am no expert but I do own two Success To The Railroad flasks and another dozen have gone thru my hands. Including one of these reproductions:

eBay item # 273693606548

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Historical-Flasks/273693606548?hash=item3fb9690294:g:zP8AAOSwBPxcXjbT

The best way to tell this particular repro is the horses mane. Note how it consists of several "spikes" sticking straight out from the horses neck. Authentic
Success To The Railroad flasks either have no mane or the mane consists of lines (or hairs) running over and down the horses neck.

Less obvious ways to tell is the perfectly aligned writing on both sides and the pontil that looks like an after thought.

Opinions?

I've always heard that about the horse's mane, too. I'd stay away from it.

I love railroad items but I'd stay away from those bottles completely. They are just way too common and the fact there's been reproductions made, waters them down even more. If I found one in the woods somewhere I'd keep it. But wouldn't spend money on one.
