Hi,
Just a question.....when a bottle states " federal law prohibits the resale or reuse of this bottle", does this mean it was for alcoholic bottles? Whiskey bottles?

Yes, ma'am. That's always been my understanding. I believe that embossing appeared from the end of Prohibition in 1933 to 1963. And welcome to the forum.

Oh thank you for the welcome. I appreciate your reply. That helps. My husband and i live on my family's land (we now own part), and have started trying to clear the woods for cattle hay storage. No go. Too many bottkes and old junk. I know the old home place burned in 1937. I know great grandpa had cancer? Or illness and had to be put up at neighbors till house was rebuilt. These bottle would be right for that post 1933 era. Pain killer for illness???? Sure, keep telling myself that, lol.

Do you know when the old home place that burned in 1937 was built? You may be on an early site that might produce some really old stuff.

Havent been able to get that from anyone. The original land grant of 1000 acres was in 1850ish. But....the trash I'm now digging is from later. Next couple generations down. Maybe 1900 at the earliest. I would say privy holes is where trash went prior to the piles I'm digging now.
