Had my first day of bottle hunting at a new site yesterday.
these are the 2 pop bottles i found.
any idea of age?
coke bottle has no marks anywhere that I can see, and nothin on bottom.
bottom of pure springs says design reg'd U 6 6 and V-2040.
any info would be appreciated, as I am a newbie

the coke bottle should have a date on it , does it say " coca cola ltd or coca cola company of Canada ltd "
if it says Canada than its older maybe from 30's or 40's , if it says coca cola ltd its from 50's or 60's

the pure spring bottle is from Ottawa , it was a large bottler based in that city , although it sold all over Ontario and maybe in other provinces I'm not really sure . it was a very large company at one point

Hey thank you for the resonse RCO!
it does say of Canada ltd, and that would make sense as i cleaned up the bottle last night and found more info...please see photo :)

but this raises another questions..if the date shown is 42, as it looks to me (with a really odd 2), would the number be on the rim? or is it just a mark that looks like a 2? the 4 is obvious.
coke bottom 2.jpg

seems to me to be a low quality bottle mold ... or very worn

42 would make sense as there is a lot of 1940's coca cola's around , although it should be easier to read , not sure why the mark would look like that

It can't be 1942...in 42 it was still embossed 'Limited'. The first year with 'Ltd' was 1948...it's entirely possible there is a late 1947 marked 'Ltd' but I have not seen it.
Just poor embossing, it's probably 54, or 52

Yeah 1959 looks right for that one. I don't think Stubby was still around in 1969, though I could be wrong.
