What the heck did I find?

I believe that's a form of a "igloo" ink bottle. Look really carefully along the base with a magnifying glass, as there may be very small marking. Excellent find!

Yep that's an ink alright, and a great find! These don't show up too often. I'm not sure I've ever seen one in person.

Dang Mine has no embossing...... But it looks exactly like one on E-Bay [FONT=&quot]Morgans Patent July 16, 1867 Glass Igloo Ink Bottle. I was thinking ink bottle but didn't know what breed it was! Thanks guys great ID![/FONT]
