Hello. I have had this jar for years and am trying to find info on it. I have researched it many times and have come up with nothing. Someone said it was a candy counter jar. I have seen a lot of them that are for beverage use with a pour spout. It is stamped “made in Italy” and has a hunch back neck. Measures 22” tall and 11” wide.. it is octagon shaped and very large.. Thanks in advance

Usually there are other markings and symbols on glass, to help identify its origin. Are there any other marks on this bottle? Single letters, symbols, numbers, everything helps.

That one isn't very old I'm afraid. It probably didn't have many owners before you got it, since it's the sort of jar that's sold in housewares stores like Pier 1 Imports and doesn't predate the 1960s or so. It wasn't really intended for anything in particular, just whatever the owner felt like storing in it.
