Finally, the last name change or is it another company name that sold beverages alongside Sun Drop. Ma Cherie Sales Corp. had a few variations that are as common as Sun Drop, but a couple of them are harder to find. First there is a, what I call a transition bottle from Sun Drop to Ma Cherie. Its Cherry Cola bottled by Sun Drop, it’s a 9-ounce, mid 1960’s and is so similar to the common Ma Cherie bottles.
The other Ma Cherie in my collection that has the Sun Drop name is 9-ounce dated 1967. Next to her is a 1965, 9-ounce Fruit Cola. Paired with the Ma Cherie Cola is the dual side picture bottle La Orange/La Grape. Both 9-ounce 1968 for the Cola and 1960 for La Orange/La Grape.
Finally, from Ma Cherie, is a somewhat rare Hill Bill Cola and the quite common Hill Billy Brew. Hmm both dated 1965, the cola is a 9-ounce and the brew is a 10-ounce. Some sort of lawsuit required for the name change, even the name on the bucket is changed from cola mix to brew mix.
