I was trying to get a date on an old bottle of Sloan’s liniment I found. I know the company didn’t start up until 1950’s and I’m lookin at the price on the box of .40 cents so what do y’all think?
Thank you so much

I have an embossed Sloan's bottle without the label. That company was around way before the 50's. It started in the late 1800's. That label looks older than the 50's.

My guess is that it's from the 1940s. Looking at Sloan's Liniment labels online, there seems to have been three major changes to the font. The first one had the name arched and lasted into the Bakelite cap era, which would have been the 1930s. The second is yours, with an art deco-influenced font. The third is a more plain font with thicker letters which I suspect was adopted in the 1950s. They were still using very similar labels in the 50s though, and in fact you can still buy Sloan's Liniment and it still has nearly the same label design https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/6MUAAOSw0e9UsWTn/s-l1600.jpg
