I found a dark green glass bottle. Embossed: John Helot, Long Branch, NJ,
Bottom embossed with John Helot DCCO
Seeking any info. Thx for your help.
The name of the company will be John Heldt and there are several varieties of bottle listed on Tod von Meechow's site,
however, I cannot see your type recorded there?
Below is a link to a SHA site pdf covering the glass manufacturers that used the 'D G CO' logo with the one on
your bottle appearing to be that used by the Diamond Glass Company of Royersford Pennsylvania.

I see now..... The "O" is a "D". Thank you so much for the clarification!

I'm not sure if I replied or not.
I just checked my Root Cokes. I have 5 1EN molds all dated from 1925 to 1928. Case closed!
Found this guy at a bottle dump yesterday... all I can determine is that Papillon Mfg. Co. became insolvent in 1888 from some Illinois Circuit Court documents.
Does anyone know any any more about...
Thanks guys. The recessed embossed panel, single-threaded screw top, and thick glass had me hoping it's closer to 1927 than 1950.
Leon The dig site is now off limits. That and most of my heavy digging days are behind me. Im kind of a scratcher NOW.
I agree. More than likely the company's first mold.
It's certainly not a particularly late example. I can't tell much about specifics but I'd be pretty surprised if it's post-1940s. Could definitely be from the late 20s, I don't know any specifics...
Those are nice, I like them, I'd go back & dig for more if you can. Nice Finds. LEON.
