Thread: Miane Hoard !

    Cool Miane Hoard !

So while on vacation in Maine I've been hitting a perticular flea market and two perticular Antique shops ! So in total I spent $125.00 and here are my finds ! On eof the best deals I ended up with was from one of the shops. Made a great purchase on these two for $80. A 6 sided Cathedral bottle Aqua with a ground pontil. But there is not a makers mark on the bottom. It is not a Missippi or Conn. glass works. And the other is this Eagke flask with an amazing internal foundry flaw. Any history on htis and a possible value would be helpfull !

Why don't I have shops like that here in Kentucky? Great finds, man!

Nice pickle and flask! Can we see a picture of the bottom of the pickle? I doubt seriously that there's a ground pontil mark on a pickle jar, but you never know. Hexagonal pickles are rarely pontiled in the first place, and the only time any grinding was done was if the scar interfered with the bottle standing upright, a problem more frequently encountered on early flasks.

Ground pontil might not be the correct term but it deos have a circular indent on the bottom. But Does not have a foundry or makers mark like "MSGW" ETC. I'll post pictures shortly

    Cathedral Bottle Base

So here is the base for the Cathderal bottle. As I had mentioned there is no makers mark on the base
