round glass top

I found a flat, clear round glass top. measuring, 2 1/2" Dia. with the words in raised letters, (to open insert knife at notch ( then an arrow >>--> ) pat.re.17562 )
I know it's a top, of something, but what?? any idea anyone?

damn...I know that but just can't think of exactly what it is...I know I've seen it but I get a feeling that it was something that we actually had around the house in the 60's.

Where was it found? What colour is the glass? How thick? Got a pic?

Hey Guys...could it be a top to a canning jar?? I found one just the other day..mine has Presto on it as well..that is what I thought they were all these years..I think they come in all kinds of colors..this one is clear...have a good day[

I took that round glass top out in the sun to photograph it, and low-and behold, I found the word PRESTO on it,, so thats indeed what it is,,,, case closed,, ( clear glass here too).. thanx[
