I a paid a buck for this at a garage sale. Does that count as a "find?" I'm new here and it's an honest question. A guy that deals in Asian antiques said this was Sukothai pottery and the factory that made it burned down 500 years ago. Havn't been able to find much info on Sukothai pottery. Either way, I think it's totally cool. If it's that old though, I should give it to a museum or something. Anyone know anything about it?

Dug, found on the ground, in an attic or cellar, traded for or just plan bought is what I would call a find.

Looks like a good find.

Oh yea, Welcome to the forum.

Paul - The blue decoration resembles that of some of the Cantonese - Chinese export ginger jars we dig from earlier pits and privies. The ginger jars are usually c. 1850 - 1870. I know very little about this sort of thing though. To me, it looks like some sort of snuff.

It could be a snuff bottle or a medicine bottle (opium), but it resembles delft to me. They put out a lot of pieces similar to this and I would guess around 1870 or newer but that is just a guess.
