Does anyone know what kind of bottle this is? The age, and any value? It is 8" tall. 3" diameter at the base, and an 1 1/2" at the neck. The only identifying marks are the letters D&M on the bottom

Interesting, I would have never thought that. What type of food would be in these?
Some sort of pickles would be quite likely. Hard to say for certain but it looks like a pickle bottle to me. They didn't have the wide mouths back then that they do now.
