I came across this recently. I have bought a lot of bottles in my life and have seen tons of generic quart bottles without labels but never one from the 1900's with its original label fully in place. I am sure they are around I just have not seen one or similar. Was curious if anyone has ever seen a similar John Dadd bottle from Haleyville, AL. The label seems to be 1890s based on 45 stars on flag but it is a screw top bottle. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

That doesn’t in my opinion look like 1890’s. To me it looks like 1940’s. Maybe the stars were not put on for room or some other reason

I suspect this is a turn of the 20th century label affixed in the past few years to a newer bottle. You see that done a lot by antique dealers when they get ahold of new-old-stock labels. It's so common that I won't buy any labeled bottle unless the label shows obvious signs of wear or degradation due to age. Generally there isn't too much thought into whether the label really matches the bottle or not. Looks like in this case they also jammed an incorrect cap onto the top.
Even if the label isn't original to the bottle though, it is a really nice label and it is genuine, just not off of that particular bottle.

I agree, looks like some one put that label on there recently. LEON.
