Last fall I started biking on some local, managed trails and today was my first chance to get onto some of the more grueling and wild trails. I found one that passes directly through an old homestead. The site hasn't been touched and I was finding all kinds of late 1800's stuff on the surface - just shards but nice ones. I've posted some pics and plan on getting out there tomorrow if the weather's good.

1st - the site

The trail passes right over a concrete pad - the rock foundation is to the right and dump stuff to the left.

All surface finds and even some embedded right in the bike trail! No one's looked for bottles there. I;ll be out there, tools in hand all this week.....I hope! The case gin shards have me quite interested. I'll post what I find this week.

Got the itch real bad up here. Still some snow in the bush trails but mostly hard ice - not bad to ride on if you're really careful. Kinda like riding on a hockey rink......sometimes ya just hang on!

could be some better stuff down below the surface , i haven't been digging anything yet only walked thru a couple locations but last week it got cold again and snowed a bit so be until next week until all the snow is gone here . is actually still a foot on snow in the bushes in some locations but gone in cleared areas like fields .

I see a bigfoot in two of the pictures. It's wearing a blue coat and trying to hide behind a tree in one. The other picture it's too far away but I see it. [:)][:)]
Be careful out there!
