2cent 5cent question

Hi ,this has puzzled me for a while ,which was first the 2 cent deposit milk or the 5 cent ? At first thought 2 cent was because money had more buying power ,then thought maybe 5 cent because glass was more expensive ,maybe both were same time just different area ,all i find are 2 cent,but have seen lots of 5 cent .Wonderings of a glass nut

I would have been embarrassed to be seen walking home from the local proprietor's store with a 2 cent bottle in my arms! I think it was a social class thing.. the caste system at work.. just a theory..[8|]
