3 Cobalt bottles from local ad......

I picked these up today, after making a woman an offer for them yesterday. She advertised some old bottles for sale in a local ad. Evidently it didn't take her long to decide to sell them to me, as the deal was done first thing this morning. They came out of the greater Milwaukee Wi. area over years of construction projects. They were nestled in with tons of turn of the century medicines, milks, hutchinson sodas, beers, and god knows what else. The color is what snagged me. Here is a shot. 1880's Joseph Wolf root beer blobsoda, light blue (cornflower) Joseph Wolf hutchinson soda, and a Staffords master quart ink with applied top in deep cobalt.

The center bottle is definately a cornflower blue, not even close to aqua which makes it very desireable here in the state to collectors. A better pic maybe...

Nice work man, that blob is just plain awesome. It and the hutch should more than make up for the Staffords, which is probably 1,000 times more common, or more. Don't see to many 80s-toc cobalt blobs. I don't at least, anyway.

Sweet Tom. Love to see the colored glass. One of these days, I've got to get my hands on one of those cobalt root beers. Great bottles.
