I like to browse through online selling sites especially now that we are in self isolation. Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace are my two favourites, mainly because I find Ebay shipping way to expensive.
This week I came across a guy selling parts of his 45 yr long collection. He had a number of ads online. I responded listing a number of bottles I was interested in. I picked them up last night but he had a bunch pulled aside plus a few crates I could rummage through. Social Distancing in effect! I came home with 39 bottles that are all new to my collection and many I had never heard of before. He had a few hundred more I didn't have and I have well over 1000 bottles. I only picked up Ontario Canada bottles but this fella had tons from every province in Canada (tons of BC). A few US bottles but not many. I will post these over the next few weeks. Today I will post 2 of my home town bottles, I think both are quite rare. The Kuntz's Olde Time Stone Ginger Beer in the amber bottle is beautiful. The man int he top hat graphic is great. It makes you happy just looking at the bottle. This bottle is from Waterloo a twin city to Kitchener. The second is a Snider's Bottling Co. I have no idea of age but assume 1930s. Despite looking for bottles from Kitchener for years I had not heard of
nor ever seen this bottle. If anyone has info to share please do. If anyone wants to see the ad and look through this gents bottles message and I will send to you.
