acid and cleaning

I am trying to get some calcium and rust stains out of a Codd bottle and was thinking of a couple of day soak in a weakened solution of muratic acid. It is next to impossible to use a bottle brush in this type of bottle as the neck and marble cause a restriction. I was thinking about a mixture of 1/4 muratic acid and 3/4 water. Dose this sound about right for removing calcium? Any other ideas? It makes one wonder how the bottlers cleaned these bottles before filling again.

if its calcium it should work, if the glass is sick (eroded) it wont help at all.
