I picked up another iron pontil local soda today! For those who may be interested, I have a very detailed post about these bottles in the Pontils Only section, but I'll share a picture or two here since it is new to my collection. ~Jim

SOULT & ZERBE/ LEWISTOWN/ Pa, 7", light green, iron pontil, c. 1855-1859.

Iron. The new bottle is the one on the left. The iron is strong, and there is a cool little jagged hunk of glass at the edge of the pontil scar. My other one has a nice, perfectly round pontil, but this one is more like a disfigured blob. I like it! ~Jim

Nice, I like the color, thanks for posting it. I have a bottle problem, I could look at them all day. Haha!

Thanks, Dave. This one pretty much showed up out of the woodwork, so it was a pleasant surprise. We only have one type of pontiled bottle from Lewistown, and this is it, so getting one of them is the lynchpin to building a good collection of early locals from here. Having two different variations of them is something that I did not even realize was possible when I first started seeking these bottles. I always hope that another type of pontiled Lewistown bottle will surface, that would be cool. ~Jim
