Anyone know anything about Ivory??

Hey Gang,
Does anyone positively know how to tell ivory from a fake? Does the hot pin test work? They have ivory from whale, elephant, mastadons and walrus. Have about 6 pieces that we are trying to determine. Any info is greatly apreciated!!!

One method is to take a pin and heat it. Somewhere on the piece that isnt noticable....you touch the piece with the heated pin. If it melts its somekind of resin, and a repo...

This is the only method I know. There are tons of repo's out there. With ivory its definitly buyer BEWARE!
