its for sure a pop bottle , that style was only used for soda bottles in Canada .
a couple weeks ago we did a thread about New Brunswick bottles and that one wasn't mentioned . although I suspected there was some more bottlers there not yet mentioned
I have a book on nova scotia bottles but nothing for NB bottles so will try and come up with more info
your spelling is off , posted B.E nadea but reads B.E Nadeau on bottle
Nadeau is a French name which makes sense as Campbellton NB a largely francophone area but still haven't found anything yet
but its not uncommon to not find info on 30's > 40's era embossed soda's online , a lot of the time there isn't much which is partly why I've tried to post a lot of info to this site so there was stuff for people to find
well true when I found and posted the bottles to the NB thread a lot I hadn't seen before , as I'm in Ontario . its hard to determine how common or rare a bottle would actually be in NB
also think we actually have a fair bit of info on this one already , ( name , city , era , bottle used )
if the bottle only said B.E Nadeau all we'd know as it was being used somewhere in Canada with a French speaking population which could be anywhere from Northern Ontario > Quebec into NB and even a few other places
although Campbellton does seem like a small place to have multiple bottlers , but its population was actually higher in the 60's and 70's before starting to fall down recently
this style of bottle is referred to as a beehive bottle , it was used all over Canada in different places around the 1930's into the > 1950's
but not all bottlers had enough money to buy embossed bottles with there name and city on them , some only got plain bottles with none and used paper labels or caps to identify flavours .
I found this bottle last summer when swimming its a plain version with no embossing ,
so the fact he had enough $ to have B.E Nadeau - Campbellton NB embossed on the bottle indicates to me that he operated there for at least several years and was doing well enough in sales locally to justify the investment
