Ball mason 3 L bottle

So I found this Ball mason 3 L bottle and the whole entire bottom looks like it has been added on and it also is not completely round as you can tell. Ive been told there is not a pontil mark on the bottom but perhaps a value mark. The rounded area is pushed out not in . Looks like an embossed v on the bottom along with a number 1. Any information would be helpful. Im thinking after 1900 but before 1910. It is also I believe a should mason top.

I have no idea what you mean by large hands you can see the l s easily

Ah, so I was way off!

I thought you meant 3 L as a unit of measure (3 Liter) , which is pretty close to 3/4 US gallon, which is way larger volume than what it appears to be. No problem - misundersatanding on my part! lol

no problem i had never heard them called a 3 L jar before either till today.

Yes, that is the date range for the "three L" jars by Ball, it is a shoulder seal jar, as long as it didn't leak, Ball didn't care about looks of the jars....lol.....crudeness and miss-spelling on the jars adds value as does color variations......

#234 in the red book and right on as to dates 1900-1910 sadly very common but many many variations. It looks like a pint and is a shoulder seal.

Thank you I just thought the bottom looked so crazy as it had that rim all the way around. Thank you
