Battery question.

I find these in the woods and dumps often and know it is from a battery. My question is it from a car battery and is it carbon? Very messy, about 6 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter. Thanks.

Yes and yes, not particularly good for the environment but no battery is. Our neighbors to the north are probably a little more knowledgeable about this but, mineing and separating the minerals for the new car battery's ls extremely bad.

Thanks for the reply. Battery technology was so far behind not too long ago. Did you here about the concentrated multiple super high powered lasers they focused onto a molecule of hydrogen. It produced half the energy the world runs on in a day. Effectively a tiny sun they produced. Now they just have to be able to efficiently store it. Crazy right.
